- dyckdownunder, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3the only reason I came to check out the comments was to see who slaughtered this guy for his grammar.
I'm actually kinda disappointed that it was only the second comment in...not the first.

- FullBleed, on 11/10/2007, -0/+18Wow. 'Whilst' and 'alotta' used in the same sentence.
Now I've seen it all.- theOster, on 11/08/2007, -0/+7Have you seen a man eat his own head?
Then you haven't seen everything.

- funkymonkey68, on 11/10/2007, -5/+3TL;DR
- Singh1, on 11/09/2007, -4/+11This can probably help you become a better designer if you are already a designer - But becoming a designer is not something you can learn, you either got it or you haven't.
- cablecanuck, on 11/09/2007, -2/+9design is not just a talent but a way of thinking and a process. design can be taught.
- SpiroPope, on 11/09/2007, -0/+11I agree with cablecanuck to a certain extent - you can teach someone to be a very competent designer. The world is full of competent designers in all disciplines. The true ground-breakers are few and far between, and what makes them such is that element that can't be taught, that comes form deep within.
- dilibau, on 11/08/2007, -3/+1deep within their guts?
- brad3378, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1If it is not something you can learn, then why do they have Design Schools?
- eliburford, on 11/09/2007, -2/+3Is it just me or is the site dead already? I mean really dead...
- edial, on 11/14/2007, -0/+11The best part is everyone can be The Best!
- rikwakefield, on 11/08/2007, -0/+16Yes, it's dead already :-) here's a mirror: http://duggmirror.com/design/50_Ways_to_Become_the ...

^ If you can at least manage that I'll call you the best designer ever. - flangle, on 11/08/2007, -0/+13Write the best is not easy, too.
- SpiroPope, on 11/11/2007, -0/+6This is not about being a better designer, it's about being a better GRAPHIC / WEB designer. As an industrial designer, there's not much here of any relevance or interest to me, nor indeed to interior designers, furniture designers, exhibition designers etc etc. Graphic Design is about communication - to get your message across in the most effective and relevant way. If you can't communicate effectively (or even identify your audience) when you're talking about your own industry, then you need to go and sit at the back of the class for the rest of the day, and think about what you've done.
- giveer, on 11/09/2007, -4/+7Excuse me sir, sorry to bother you, I'm with the Grammar police and I'm here to punch you square in the bag.
- skags, on 11/08/2007, -3/+2Screw you man, I'm at work, where I can get in trouble by laughing so hard.
- XBSHX, on 11/08/2007, -2/+2not really funny...
- SteelFrog, on 11/08/2007, -1/+2Where the hell do you work!? "Stop laughing or you're fired."
- skags, on 11/08/2007, -3/+2Screw you man, I'm at work, where I can get in trouble by laughing so hard.
- nesibus, on 11/08/2007, -2/+350 ways to use the words Best and Ever together in a digg title, like all the other thousands before it.
- radjrown, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2My #1 rule is, don't force yourself to come up with something awesome. If you can afford to, take the necessary time to come up with a great design. Showers definitely help, and for me personally, a good windsurfing or surfing session always helps me clear my mind (and then the ideas start coming in).
- bobbles, on 11/08/2007, -1/+2#51 befriend someone with a good server
- roberto_deneero, on 11/09/2007, -2/+21 Way to Become the Most Buried Story on Digg Ever!!!
- insomniacal, on 11/08/2007, -1/+2Way #1: Lose the exclamation points!!!
- Yooree, on 11/09/2007, -0/+7Wait, if I read this and become the best designer ever, and then someone else reads it and they become the best designer ever... Who's better?
- DDDoc, on 11/08/2007, -1/+4Me fail English? That's unpossible!
- fujofly, on 11/08/2007, -1/+4Use Copperplate Gothic Bold http://www.ilovecopperplategothicbold.com
- The_Dude, on 11/08/2007, -1/+1I love that one. I had it on a Dell pc way back in 97, and haven't seen it since. Doesn't seem to come with Office or Word or whatever anymore, unless I'm being cheated.
- sysconnected, on 11/08/2007, -1/+2Hi everyone. Yes, i made some grammar mistakes and unfortunately the server collapsed. I will follow the rule #51: Befriend someone with a better server. Thanks for your comments.
- sysconnected, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2You can see this story here: http://duggmirror.com/design/50_Ways_to_Become_the ...
- darkmotion, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2There's no formula, but there are some methods with work better than others.
- Darren07, on 11/08/2007, -1/+1#1 get a stable webhost
- solid12345, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4Ugh, everything is internet and web crap. Can't we print designers catch a break, is there no respect for our field anymore? Now we we have to share the title of "designer" with IT geeks who may know XHTML like the back of their hand but couldn't even tell you who or what Paul Rand, white space or CMYK is.
I just wish more website builders would get some knowledge in the basic principles of print design before they call themselves designers.- sysconnected, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3I agree with you. I'm a designer and a coder too. I've seen terrible and horrible designs made by programmers who have no idea what contrast is. You need 10 years to become a real designer.
- solid12345, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1Glad someone agrees with me. Don't get me wrong, having good web coding skills is a great talent, I wish I had more of it. But really I think to be a truly great web designer you have to study up on years of traditional layout theory, the same principles apply.
- sysconnected, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3I agree with you. I'm a designer and a coder too. I've seen terrible and horrible designs made by programmers who have no idea what contrast is. You need 10 years to become a real designer.
- assassinave, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1If you want to be a Superman of design the only way to obtain similar powers like he did under Earth's yellow sun is TYPOGRAPHY. The web is like a wet dream for structured, easy to read typography if you master that. I should slap this person for self promotion and the recommendation of using a texture(as a way to become a better designer).
- taketheleap, on 11/08/2007, -1/+1Designer tip: get a better hosting service.
Buried for giving designer tips and then crashing... - ninjan, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1This centralised library can also help keep you’re work consistent.
I go nuts whenever I see the misuse of "your" - orangetiki, on 11/08/2007, -1/+4Here is a much better list
http://www.gapingvoid.com/Moveable_Type/archives/0 ...- SpiroPope, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Brilliant link, cheers!
- rtjin, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Yeah great list.
- PJohn, on 11/08/2007, -0/+0I noticed a couple of the tips (file names, making back ups) could easily be solved by using source control (CVS, SVN)...
- The_Dude, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1How about 50 Ways To Not Have Your Site Dugg to Death? Someone slap that up somewhere please.
- lex10, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1be the best me one day go!
- mikehill33, on 11/08/2007, -0/+251 - get better hosting.
- Chexee, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1EVER?!?!?!?!?!
- gregdigg, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Title: 50 Ways to Become the Best Designer Ever!!!
#50: Don’t over sell yourself.
I guess if you keep your clients' expectations low, then by comparison you will seem like the best designer ever!!! - sysconnected, on 11/09/2007, -2/+1Thanks for your comment
- infamousjre, on 11/08/2007, -0/+21. Kill all the other designers
- freshgrease, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1If this stuff really worked, the designer who designed this procedure wouldn't want to release the secrets to being equal or better than him. #51 Don't give your competitors an edge.
- atrophic, on 11/08/2007, -0/+0How do summaries with terrible grammar ever make it to the front page?
- ktooken, on 11/09/2007, -3/+1plagiarized... http://www.computerarts.co.uk/in_depth/features/50 ...
- RedScythe, on 11/08/2007, -3/+0cute lol =)
- dcmusicfusion, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Wasn't #17 simplify!?!?!?
- gpgarner, on 11/09/2007, -0/+0"use as many layers in Photoshop" is ok advice. Although I'd say "take a tutorial in adjustment layers" is even better!
- ashbeauty, on 11/10/2007, -0/+0hey kool way to get digg in
