- nar3024, on 11/14/2007, -11/+405Jesus... It seems to do it when you click an apartment. Yay for popup blocking
- Dolomite, on 11/11/2007, -80/+5kinda funny, but it looks photoshoppeed . cool if its real though.
- rspeed, on 11/11/2007, -3/+112Can you tell from the pixels, having seen many shops in your time?
- linkinpark342, on 11/14/2007, -1/+38http://xkcd.com/331/
- MtheoryX, on 11/11/2007, -2/+2Absolutely Perfect.
- sanman, on 11/12/2007, -2/+20*****, you think that's bad? Try using the Digg comments in Firefox, and it freezes the ***** screen for upto a minute!
- BearinG, on 11/22/2007, -1/+1Yeah thank god for Restoring Windows
- CaseyThr, on 11/14/2007, -0/+7I love how, after reading every single XKCD comic, I automatically think of them in everyday situations and can normally guess what comic has been linked before I click the link.
Haha! Right again!
- MtheoryX, on 11/11/2007, -2/+2Absolutely Perfect.
- takeda, on 11/10/2007, -1/+37Yay? That site doesn't seem to contain spam.
What next? To view the picture, now he'll sellect open all 146912 popup windows?- syncosoftkerala, on 11/10/2007, -0/+24The script must be retrying to open a popup, that many tries.
- Ngai, on 11/11/2007, -0/+14stubborn bastards
- xGrill, on 11/10/2007, -0/+19you can just type in the address to see if it is real or fake right?
- mtekk, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3It's the blueprint/drawing that when clicked has the broken script that tries to relaunch a pop-up, I had Firefox counting as fast as it could and firebug getting ever more annoyed with scripting errors.
- bbardlbradd, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1My exact thoughts after visiting the site myself. I'm using Safari, but I doubt for some reason (probably from experience) that Safari is better @ blocking pop-ups as Firefox, but then again, Safari doesn't even tell you when it's blocked a pop-up.
- ubergeek09, on 12/24/2007, -2/+1Safari is horrible, what are you smoking?
- syncosoftkerala, on 11/10/2007, -0/+24The script must be retrying to open a popup, that many tries.
- stonedslacker, on 11/14/2007, -8/+20Can someone try it without pop-up blocker enabled and let us know what happens. I can't afford to risk my computer hanging right now coz have too many unsaved things and tabs open.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/14/2007, -1/+496I'll give it a whirl. If I am not back in 20 minutes, avenge my death.
- akkibaba, on 11/14/2007, -1/+93Thank you for a shining moment of hilarity in my boring work day.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/14/2007, -0/+87I do what I can. I must have did something wrong cause it only loaded one pop up. Meh it was fun while it lasted.
- akkibaba, on 11/14/2007, -1/+93Thank you for a shining moment of hilarity in my boring work day.
- justinjacobs, on 11/13/2007, -15/+8I just tried it in Firefox 2.0.0.8 with pop up blocking off and it only opens the one popup of the selected image. Maybe it's because I'm using a Linux build of Firefox?
- ayeroxor, on 11/09/2007, -41/+16That would be why you're gay, but I don't think that affects the popups...
- honeymustardn, on 11/11/2007, -4/+22Oh *****, using Linux makes people gay?
- zwaldowski, on 11/09/2007, -1/+18@honeymustard: So Microsoft says.
- ayeroxor, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2Sheesh. What's with all the buries? I never said there was anything *wrong* with being gay.
- ayeroxor, on 11/09/2007, -41/+16That would be why you're gay, but I don't think that affects the popups...
- jmreid, on 11/09/2007, -0/+9Here's what I got after allowing popups in Camino on Leopard:
http://picboost.com/upload/447_Picture 1.png
That's right... a shadow so dark, it consumes all.- bbardlbradd, on 11/09/2007, -1/+3wtf?
- dbr_onix, on 11/09/2007, -0/+114k drop-shadows layered upon each other
- bbardlbradd, on 11/09/2007, -1/+3wtf?
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/14/2007, -1/+496I'll give it a whirl. If I am not back in 20 minutes, avenge my death.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/10/2007, -1/+52Attempting it as we speak. The pop blocker is tallying up all the pop ups and then I am going to allow pop ups for the site.
- Hitchhiker90, on 11/14/2007, -1/+63You are a brave soul. I salute you for taking one for the team.
- evilpig, on 11/09/2007, -0/+7His PC must have died, hasn't responded yet. =D
- binarymayhem, on 11/09/2007, -3/+3hmmm, I just tried it with IE6, with no pop up blocker... NOTHING...maybe some one needs to stop looking at porn?
http://picboost.com/upload/446_wheresmypop.JPG - Syphon8, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1You have to click a thumbnail.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1Meh it only opened one pop up.
- binarymayhem, on 11/09/2007, -3/+3hmmm, I just tried it with IE6, with no pop up blocker... NOTHING...maybe some one needs to stop looking at porn?
- mustang460, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2it only shows one window, first thing i did when i got to the site ;D
- Eleniatari, on 11/13/2007, -0/+125Shall we note how UNL1M1T3D is still gone after 18 minutes of loading popups. I fear the site ate him.
- nickerbocker, on 11/09/2007, -7/+2It took me some time before I saw what the picture was all about.
- TequilaCollins, on 11/10/2007, -0/+11541634 pop-up blocked until it finally loaded. Cool!
The site's script seems to be fixed now. :-(- dragon76, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Not when I tried it, the number just kept rolling.
- bbardlbradd, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1Same here, I just tried it, it's not fixed yet.
- TimeIsTissue, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Funny. I just went to it, and it said there were no pop-ups on the page..
- CaseFaceMcGee, on 11/08/2007, -0/+0If you have javascript turned off, it doesn't even try to open a popup, it just loads it in the same tab. Just shoddy programming, from the look of it...
- Durinthal, on 11/13/2007, -0/+8The kitchen in 404 is pretty nice.
- iNaya, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2Turned off FireFox popup blocking, and it only popped up ONE window when clicking on a photo. Turning popup blocking on made Firefox think it had blocked increasing amounts of popup windows.
- Dolomite, on 11/11/2007, -80/+5kinda funny, but it looks photoshoppeed . cool if its real though.
- smurfz, on 11/10/2007, -11/+82Wow! That's insane!
- Davisourus, on 11/09/2007, -1/+22Yeah, it's as if someone took source code to free porn as the framework for a virtual tour?
Next step: virtual tours of porn studios? - spacebar14, on 11/14/2007, -0/+27Its because he was the millionth visitor. Duh!
- rome747, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1It's actually because he was the 146,912th visitor.
- RemuS02, on 11/12/2007, -7/+0Yep, however Fx si cooperating on those "Pop-ups", JavaScript is not handled properly. Doesn't happen in Opera for instance.
- Davisourus, on 11/09/2007, -1/+22Yeah, it's as if someone took source code to free porn as the framework for a virtual tour?
- mojaam, on 11/14/2007, -110/+13Why not just go directly to the site shall we: http://aparthotelmontreal.com/VirtualtourPhotos.ht ...
Hmm, nothing happened, Photoshop or Glitch or your other tabs?- nar3024, on 11/12/2007, -7/+50Did you read my comment? You have to click an apartment listing on that page, then they go crazy.
- mojaam, on 11/12/2007, -75/+3No I did not read your comment, am I required to? And I did click an apartment and it took me to it's Virtual Tour, it's when you click one of the photos the pop ups arises. All of this could have been put in the description. In any case, the people who made that site must not know javascript and probably messed up a for loop.
- nar3024, on 11/09/2007, -3/+37Yes, its probably a messed up for loop, but thats why its called "Thank You Firefox!" rather than "HAHA THESE PEOPLE HAVE A LOT OF POPUPS" most likely.
- Dragonskies, on 11/13/2007, -3/+42In IE 6 you get only a single popup with a picture. I think it's clear what browser they did their development testing in. ;)
- DiggzDE, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2You still lose. What is the point in arguing against a fact?
- Pritchard, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2You're an idiot. Look at the image next time, and LURK MORE.
- Psythik, on 11/09/2007, -2/+13Hmm, I clicked on an apartment listing, and it only opened one popup with a virtual tour of the place...
- Audacitor, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3Okay, I provoked 1024 popups, and then it got through. Interesting number to konk out on. My platform is a PPC G5 Mac running Leopard. Any insights?
- mysteri0usdrx, on 11/12/2007, -1/+4it clearly means you are inferior to those exceeding 1024 popups.
- biff198, on 11/08/2007, -3/+8Wow... site's going down...
- Sabretou, on 11/12/2007, -1/+12Now that's what I call a Digg Comments Effect.
- Klink258, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Justice.
Shoot, accidentally dugg nar3024's comment.
- DiggzDE, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Damn. I clicked it but this computer had pop-ups unblocked for some reason. :( Bad idea.
- Sabretou, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1You got what you deserved.
- M80mayhem, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2Holy *****! There it goes....
- nar3024, on 11/12/2007, -7/+50Did you read my comment? You have to click an apartment listing on that page, then they go crazy.
- fLUx1337, on 11/13/2007, -4/+132Nope, it works, opens about 4 popups a second.....
But if you unblock it, don't expect your browser to explode, only opens one in the end....- EntropyFan, on 11/13/2007, -4/+50So if you went there with IE6 (and no popup blocker like the google toolbar) you would get only 1 pop up window?
Sounds horrible!- boiboi, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4Firefox cures herniated disk!
I take care of stuff like that in Task Manager.
- boiboi, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4Firefox cures herniated disk!
- FutureGuy, on 11/14/2007, -10/+53And that's exact how it works in IE too, good try though.
Next FireFox saves the world, solves global warming and cures cancer.- drakenlot, on 11/09/2007, -3/+38FireFox has done all that, as well as killing Hitler and Hussein. Microsoft just keeps it from public knowledge because of the problems they'd have.

- wiirdo, on 11/14/2007, -2/+24If all 1100+ diggers went to this website, that's 161 million popups.
- jhshukla, on 11/09/2007, -2/+33161 million popups BLOCKED.
- SteveMax, on 11/09/2007, -0/+8If each request took them 10 bytes, well... Do the math ;) I I pity them for their next bandwidth bill.
- GeForce8800GTX, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1I ran a DU meter on it and the connection is inactive. But the site... Oh god :)
- digggggggggg, on 11/09/2007, -1/+5FCC: We got 20 complaints last night about the David Hyde Pierce incident. As you all know, one complaint represents one billion people. Therefore, twenty billion people were offended by the David Hyde Pierce incident.

- kreatre2007, on 11/09/2007, -44/+6Ha ha... That's so typical. Who should we blame more? The makers of web browsers or websites? I've been using Safari on my Mac for a long time now. I love the pop-up blocking feature. I wonder why Micro$oft took so damned long to offer this feature in Internet Exploder.
- techresearcher, on 11/09/2007, -6/+26Ok. Shut up about ranting on Microsoft. Just cuz you like your Safari doesnt mean you have to blow your ass at every other thing. If you'r happy with what you got, fine. You just dont go screaming about how everything else sucks.
- drakenlot, on 11/09/2007, -10/+3'You're'.
Close, but no cigar.- GeForce8800GTX, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4He said 'you'r', which is merely missing an E. It HAS the apostrophe. I dugg him and buried you.

There, I can do it to. - bbardlbradd, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1I'm probably considered to be a "mac fanboi" but I do not submit to your second rate attempt to kick a Microsoft when it's down. The problem isn't M$ & the solution isn't Apple, I mean, not in this particular situation. Safari may be cleaner and faster, but firefox blocks pop-ups a lot better, and it tells you when it's doing it. Safari doesn't.
- TheFraction, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1Whoa, I typed M$.
I AM SO ***** HILARIOUS.

- koweja, on 11/09/2007, -6/+12Why? Because IE6 and 7 have pop-up blockers? Because the site works properly in IE so you don't get a humorous overload of pop-ups? Because MS makes the dominant browser (which is what Mozilla is competing for, not to see who can block pop-ups), or because people design and test sites around IE?
Firefox may be better than IE, but a single site not working properly in FF isn't exactly proof of that.- Elranzer, on 11/10/2007, -3/+4IE is only the default browser in Windows. The rest of the world uses Firefox.

- RemuS02, on 11/09/2007, -5/+3Well, in Opera, there are no pop-ups at all. Those pop-ups are generated by Fx's corrupted JavaScript engine.

- surilamin, on 11/08/2007, -3/+6I did and nothing happened. IE7 is actually pretty decent. I use and add-on called iepro (ie7pro.com), that blocks ads, and ie7 has a built in pop-up blocker.

- spyrochaete, on 11/09/2007, -0/+8That is strange! It's almost as if it stops trying to show that one popup once it's currently being shown! What a brain buster!

PS: I'm not saying that again, I swear. - koweja, on 11/09/2007, -0/+14You disabled your pop-up blocker just to see what would happen? You, sir, are the hero of Digg.
- ThreeDee912, on 11/09/2007, -0/+6The popup script probably had some 'error handling' in case the popup didn't open. I don't know JavaScript, but it would be something like this:
on doPopup()
create new "window" element (5,5) //make a popup window
on error //if the window didn't open
doPopup() //try making another popup window
end doPopup
which would make the popup script go into an infinite loop.

- mbeckfl, on 11/11/2007, -13/+19Ok, I went there in both FF and IE and not a single pop up warning in either. I call inaccurate - my theory: Jescro and anyone else who got varying numbers of problems needs to run Spybot / AdAware, because your system is infected with some unhealthy $&{ from cruising too many pron and warez sites.
- drakenlot, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4Some of the pics work properly, some don't.
- warkro, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2click on one of the normal photos not the virtual tour photos

When you click on any photos (not the virtual tour photos) then the popup starts popping up :) - 0xFEEDFACE, on 11/11/2007, -1/+18At first I thought it was a little odd that there were that many popups, but I actually don't think it's fake.
I recently had the pleasure of dealing with a site that would do much the same. It was powered by a (very very crappy) in-house CMS (written in ASP, so you know it's good). Their popup-spawning code (JS) had a function which, after a popup-spawning link was clicked, would sit in a loop and check for the presence of the newly-created window. If it didn't open, it would spawn another. In fact, unless the popup was closed using the "close" link in the window (i.e. not the close button), it would open another window. I'm sure you can imagine what happened when the user had FF, or any popup-blocking browser. Yep. Just like the picture... - feverjunk, on 11/11/2007, -13/+15Inaccurate. Not one popup in IE. I love Firefox but they don't get a Thank you on this one
- digguse, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Did you click on any photos (not the virtual tour photos)
- acitcratnA, on 11/08/2007, -1/+1I did in IE7. I get one pop-up. It shows an enlarged photo of the thumbnail, as expected.
- donte, on 11/08/2007, -2/+1Also, I would have tried this to test the accuracy, but FF crashed (again) when I tried to open a new tab.
- digguse, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Did you click on any photos (not the virtual tour photos)
- snazzydrew, on 11/08/2007, -1/+1insane. :O
- Schmapdi, on 11/11/2007, -14/+15IE 6 has a pop-up blocker.
- DarkKnightUGA09, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1true, but it sucks so bad it may as well not have one... but in MS's defense IE7 did make good improvements
- Apokalyps2547, on 11/14/2007, -2/+1"IE 6 has a pop-up blocker."
Yeah and the KKK's a civic organization.
THAT DOESN"T MAKE THEM ANY GOOD! :p
- KennethKenneth, on 11/09/2007, -6/+1what it's only a apartment site....
- bellapria, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1I know...shouldn't it be a site of something you shouldn't be looking at for that many pop ups?
- rnreekez, on 11/08/2007, -3/+3"I don't remember reading an e-mail titled: Heard you...."
